EA has been officially announcing FIFA cover stars for different regions. And there is something interesting about the cover for Australia. Stephanie Catley won our Australia FIFA 16 Cover Vote. She joins Lionel Messi on the cover of the game in Australia. One more athlete will share the cover with the two. They will be revealed later this summer.
There is only one cover star to join MESSI on the cover for each region. But to celebrate the fact that the first time a woman has appeared on the cover, Australia edition will put Stephanie Catley and another male player on the cover.
So, who will be the shadow on the left of MESSI? Taking the shadow’s outline into consideration, we think that he is very likely to be the former captain of Australia national soccer team - Tim Cahill.
Tim Cahill is an offensive and defensive midfielder who primarily plays as a central midfielder. His biggest advantage is attacking from the back. He is also good at running all the way from midfield into the penalty area. With outstanding sense of goal hanging and prediction, he often manages to perform a critical strike in the dangerous area. His heading power plays an important part when he scores goals. His ability of scoring goals by header is as good as that of the legendary center forward Alan Shearer. That’s why he is known as Premier League’s king of header.
In 2015 Asian Cup, Tim Cahill captained his team to play all the way through the tournament and defeated South Korea and finally won the first title. Tim Cahill definitely deserves the honor of being the FIFA 16 Australia cover star in terms of ability and qualification.
